Comprehend:  in John 1:5, and the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not  is “katalambano” (kat-al-am-ban’-o); it signifies darkness as evil thinking to be present with God while yet exalting itself to overthrow Him; couldn’t grasp the way to avoid; control or make “light” his own.
Comprehend it not:  signifies Lucifer couldn’t prevent, hinder or thwart God’s light from exposing his darkness.
There is a darkness rebellion creates within hearts of anyone foolish enough to entertain darkened vain thoughts and not reject and cast them down. Romans 1:2 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
The Light revealed Lucifer’s stubborn rebellious heart even though he was touted as one of God’s greatest works in the heavens!
Lucifer’s dark vain thoughts; his imaginations and stubbornly prideful heart that entertained rebellion; caused his fall to not only be great; but costly.
Remember; the Lord as the Sower of Light, able to shine on in darkness; did discern and totally detect and recognize the subtleness of Lucifer’s thoughts the moment they attempted to creep into His presence and exalt themselves. Isaiah 14:12-15; John 1:1-5
So Lucifer was expelled; cast down; stripped of privilege and right because despite his wisdom; hidden things of dishonesty he coveted became darkness that left him totally unable to comprehend; prevent; influence; “katalambano” the light of God from shining on as the revelatory; exposing all.
Not only couldn’t Lucifer comprehending it; perceive or think clearly; he also couldn’t react fast enough to avoid or circumvent the penetration of the revelatory light of the Lord’s silent knowing gaze is in all things.
Learn from this; that darkness always tries to circumvent desire and ability to comprehend all the Lord is. It creeps in thinking to disrupt every intention we have to spend quiet, intimate time in the Lord’s presence seeking to know Him!
