This is a series from Dr. Aikens entitled “Revelatory Words and Concepts” These revelatory nuggets are curated by Jane Babich from Bootcamp Teachings and Podcasts. These concepts are rooted in Apostle Aikens’s heart toward equipping ministries and ministers for the work of the end times.
Psalm 37: 17-24
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholds the righteous. The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine, they shall be satisfied. But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous shows mercy, and giveth. For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth, and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
Psalm 37:17 tells us, “arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds His righteous.” And verse 24 declares even if as His good men we fall, in walking out ordered steps; we never utterly fall, as He upholds us by His hand.
As we read these verses in-between the to declarations that He will uphold us, He reminds of so much more.
- He will uphold His righteous ones.
- Our inheritance in God will be forever.
- We shall not be ashamed in evil times.
- Even in famine, we will be satisfied.
- God shall consume our enemies.
- We will have the grace to show mercy and give away from ourselves.
- The Lord orders our steps.
- As a good man, He will delight in our ways.
- And again, He will uphold us.
That is a lot of things to remember and be grateful for, sandwiched between the confirmation of being upheld by Him. So much to give praise.
In Psalm 37, this upholds or “Camak,” which means to be propped up spiritually. Upheld also means to be supported and defended by one that has decided not to change. Being upheld by God is a sure place, a place equipped with all we need to stand and withstand in whatever season we find ourselves in.
In these seasons of being upheld, we need to lean into Him, being set in the safe secret places of rest in Him, reminding ourselves that we are already delivered and totally sustained by His hand.
Psalm 145:14-17
The Lord upholds all that fall and raiseth up all those that be bowed down. The eyes of all wait upon thee, and thou givest them their meat in due season. Thou openest thine hand and satisfiest the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and holy in all his works.
Psalm 145:14-17 says He not only upholds all His that may fall, but He also will raise those easily beset, encumbered, or bowed down; but as we will wait on Him, He gives meat in due season. Again everything we need in whatever season we are in.
With all this, it is seen that we will endure many harsh times and things. We will face adversity, and we will have times that we feel we will faint, Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.
Yet our but God is that God cannot and indeed will not forget us. His had will always busily, often invisibly, but faithfully work, to guide us in His time unto great effectual doors that He allows can open in our Kairos time of accomplishing as He pleases.
