Revelatory Understanding of the “Spirits of the Lord”

This post is the revelatory teaching notes that Dr. Aikens taught from in the Bootcamp entitled “Spirits of the Lord” Posted by Rev. Jane Babich after attending the Bootcamp.

The “Spirits of the Lord” are key to our understanding of the power God gives to those that know Him as “Ruwach-Yahweh” or “The Spirit of God”. The Spirit of the Lord as “Ruwach-Yahweh appears first in Judges 3:10

Judges 3:10

“The Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord gave Cushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand. And his hand prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim”.

It then is seen thirty more times scripturally; and yet He is the same revealed from at the beginning as the Spirit of God; and who speaks last in Revelation 22:17, as the “Spirit” assigned with the Bride to say.

Revelation 22:17

“Come! Let him that has an ear to hear the Spirit, Come! Let him that is thirsty, Come! And, whosoever will; let him also Come to take the water of life freely.

Consider the revelatory significance of what we are in His seven virtues or manifestations which are all God! What’s in there, it is everything! Anything we would ever need, expect, hope for, or might dare to even think to ask of Him is already revealed in His names!

Isaiah 11:2

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.

“Spirit of the Lord”

Spirit of Lord appears 26 times in the Old Testament. They signifying He is self-existent and eternal; Jehovah, the Lord our God! As the very likeness of God, as all His extraordinary endowments, He’s eminently holy, pure, and wise.

The revelatory is He is the great influencer, Spirit of truth and great counselor; for through Him is produced perfect wisdom, knowledge, and unqualified fear of the Lord. His six other virtues endow with an eminence of prophetic gifts and apostolic qualification for ministry. Although He softly rests upon, He begins to dynamically work effectually within and without immediately.

This work causes men to will to do no less than God’s good pleasure even in the lightest of all His touches. It was by His Spirit that prophets were inspired to see and reveal the Lord as promised coming Messiah, who was to be apostle, prophet, prince of peace, and begotten Son.

It was the Spirit of the Lord that stayed Jesus’ heart and mind and kept His human nature pure. The Spirit of the Lord ensured His mind was made eminently wise; so, His heart retained integrity, based on His fear of as Son’s love of His “Abba” or Father God. The Spirit of the Lord provided every extraordinary endowment Jesus had or moved in was directly attributable to one of His seven manifestations.

Firstly, the Spirit of the Lord as the initial increase Jesus received as a child; first causing Him to wax strong in Spirit, be filled with wisdom; and the grace of God be upon Him. But unlike when it was time for Him to minister; this resting was one by measure. Luke 2:40

Secondly, the Spirit of the Lord increased His measure of rest upon the Lord at twelve, enhancing His effectual working in Him by enlarging His wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man. Luke 2:52

Thirdly, the Spirit of the Lord as the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus at His baptism. And the Holy Spirit was how He wisely functioned.  He was increased by the sufficiency of grace in every good work He came to finish in salvation.
2 Corinthians 9:8

 John 3:34-35 Apostle-phrased!

He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto Him. For the Father in loving the Son, he gives all things into His hand.

“Shall Rest Upon Him”

Shall Rest Upon Him: signifies the Spirit of the Lord would descend to rest softly upon Jesus, as a dove; assigned to progressively bring Him to increase and remain with Him through it all. Thus, as the very likeness of God, He would not merely come upon the Lord; but attend Him permanently.

“Spirit of Wisdom”

Spirit of Wisdom:  signifies skillfully wise, in being filled with all wisdom; the ultimate of good sense. His work is to produce wisdom that enables making every experience that learning experience, to motivate wise choices, leading to ordered change that behaves wisely in all ways.
The Spirit of Wisdom entails causing to progressively make right choices in an asking to comprise the best methods; seeking how to secure best ends; knocking till finding sufficiency of grace; thus, the abounding of strength to finish working out good works.

“Spirit of Understanding”

Spirit of Understanding: signifies He is the manifestation of knowledge, knowing the real meaning of and behind all things; thus perfectly, understands all, which then is given to become our wisdom.
The difference between the words here rendered wisdom and understanding is, that the former denotes wisdom properly; and the latter, that judgment resulting from wisdom, by which we distinguish things, or decide on their character.

“Spirit of Counsel”

Spirit of Counsel: signifies the extraordinary ability to advise, and to prudently plan according to all that the Spirit of God has purposed.
It is that by which we shall be qualified to “give” godly counsel that is designed to advise and give direction that leads His own unto their ordered paths of expected ends.

“Spirit of Might”

Spirit of Might: signifies that mighty force full of valor, mastery doing mighty acts and exploits of power and strength which guarantee victory.
Strength, vigor, energy; that strength of heart and purpose which will enable a man to meet difficulties, to encounter dangers, to be bold, open, and fearless in the discharge of his duties. It is not necessary to remark, that this characteristic was found in an eminent degree in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Spirit of Knowledge”

Spirit of Knowledge: signifies cunning, in knowing the attributes of the plans and purposes of God. No man knows the Father except the Son; and no man’s seen God at any time except by the only begotten Son, who descends from the bosom of the Father; did then declare His knowledge of Him to reveal Him as He is. 1 John 5:20.

“Spirit of the Fear of the Lord”

Spirit of the Fear of the Lord:  signifies exceeding morals and respect that brings us to an awe-inspired fearlessness of all else. This also denotes willing respect for the spiritual protocol God established.

Beloveds, the fear of the Lord instills in us a sense of the Son’s awe and unwavering love and respect for Abba Father. This love of God is based in utter gratitude and it has absolutely no need to attempt to prove itself; for it just is!

Isaiah 11:3-4 Apostle-phrased!

This resting shall make the Lord of quick understanding in His fear of the Lord. The Lord then shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, nor reprove men based only on what He heard by His ears. Thus, with the spiritual absolute of righteousness, He shall judge the poor. He shall reprove with equity on behalf of the meek. He shall smite the earth with revelatory Word given.  And in exhaling His breath He slays wickedness!
