Everyone has a ministry! It may not be in the pulpit or in the foreign lands but we all are called by the Lord to fulfill our purpose (or ministry) on the earth. Since we all are part of it, we need to know what matters most, right?
Dr. Aikens recently taught about this important subject. Click What Matters Most in Ministry for full teaching.
Her biblical character for this teaching is David out of the book of Samual. One of the revelatory definitions that she imparted to us is how we need to see circumstances, check it out.
Circumstances signify minor, unessential, insignificant, inconsequential; so absolutely powerless little details. Thus they only gain power in our lives if we stop to stare: gazing; giving them undue time and attention. When we do this, it empowers them (the circumstances) right before our eyes!
Dr. A. shares in the teaching how David, even as a man after God’s own heart, foolishly permits the evil present with him to draw him to stop and stare in fear, gazing longingly at or entertaining some idea; instead of remembering to keep his heart and mind on what matters most. We also do this, when circumstances arrive at our doorsteps.
