My Miracle

Lord, I need a miracle!

Click the link above to hear an amazing song about waiting on a miracle.
Have you ever thought that?  Have you ever said it out loud?  How did you feel?  Were you full of faith? Or was this just something you said with exasperation.
The miracle is defined as:
A surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. A highly improbable or extraordinary event that brings very welcome consequences.
Is that what you were asking for when you declared…Lord, I need a miracle?  Most of the time when we cry out for a miracle it is in a time of loss…loss of direction or understanding.  We don’t know how to take then next step without God’s supernatural intervention.

My Personal Miracle:

In 1989, I was sharing with a co-worker that I felt so stuck and did not know if I could just get up every day and do the same old same old.  I really did not know why I felt that way. I knew the Lord, I had a great job, great husband, and good health; but I felt like I was just drifting along.
My friend gave me a Jewish dreidel and told me to spin it every day when I came to work and speak the words that the 4 letters (1 on each side) mean. Nes Gadol Hayah Sham – “a great miracle happened there”
I did not really know what I was crying out for, but each day I spun the little child’s  wooden toy and spoke out loud,” a great miracle happened there”.  My faith that God was moving became stronger and stronger, even though nothing seemed to be changing. But I knew it was…WOW is that an understatement!
It turns out that ten months later my miracle arrived. After 17 years of marriage, we had a 7 lb.  20″ beautiful miracle.  So did God answer my child like the spinning of the dreidel in accordance with the definition?
A miracle is a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency. A highly improbable or extraordinary event that brings very welcome consequences.
Oh yes, He did! See the reason it was such a miracle was that because of my age and have not had children, we were advised for my husband to have a vasectomy, which he did 18 months earlier.  Yes, you heard me correctly.  So I can with great confidence still declare to you that God did a miracle!
He surprised my husband and I with a welcome event that was not expected by natural or scientific laws and allow me to still today lift my eyes toward the heavens and praise God for the highly improbable, extraordinary daughter I was given as our miracle.
I would not have asked for her because I did not know that was what I needed, but it was. Then and now she is the miracle that keeps giving. See because when God gives us a miracle, he does it knowing our past, present and future life and the miracle grows in our hearts as we realize more and more that God knows what we have need of before we even ask.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
Ephesians 3:20-21
So when you cry out, Lord I need a miracle; get ready because God is faithful to answer the cry of a humble seeking heart that is fixed on Him.
Selah!
